Cox Media Group Washington correspondent Scott MacFarlane tweets that Rep. Barbara Lee, D-Oakland, and Rep. Eliot Engel, D-N.Y., are the first two members of Congress to arrive in the House chamber today to save seats for tonight's State of the Union address.

Lee arrived eight hours early to camp out along the center aisle, according to MacFarlane's tweets, "wearing midnight blue suit has folders of papers to occupy her during long wait in House chamber, saving prime seat."

Lee's office hasn't yet responded to my inquiry of whether there's something specific Lee intends to say to the president as he moves by. If I had to guess, I'd say it'll have something to do with drone warfare and Lee's ongoing effort to repeal the use-of-force authorization Congress passed in September 2001. Of course, she'll have to be rather succinct.

The Washington Post has a fun story today about congressional "squatters" who arrive many hours in advance to claim prime seats in order to claim five seconds of national television time with the president of the United States as he enters the chamber.

A new bill co-authored by a Bay Area congresswoman would establish due process protections for

Americans against government-operated unmanned aerial drones in U.S. airspace.

HR 637, the Preserving American Privacy Act by Rep. Zoe Lofgren, D-San Jose, and Rep. Ted Poe, R-Texas, would also forbid law enforcement and private drones from being armed with firearms or explosives while operating within U.S. airspace.

"The expanded use of drones on U.S. soil raises serious constitutional and civil liberties issues that Congress needs to address," Lofgren said in a news release. "These devices should be used in a safe, open and responsible manner. This bill would ensure that drones follow strict guidelines to protect Americans' privacy while still realizing their practical applications for science, border security, public safety and commercial development."

Said Poe: "Just because Big Brother can look into someone's backyard doesn't mean it should. Technology may change, but the Constitution does not."

The bill would require that government agencies must obtain a warrant to use drones to collect information that can identify individuals in a private area, and get a court order and provide public notice beforehand to collect information that can identify individuals in defined public areas. Those requirements would be subject to exceptions for emergencies, border security and consent, however.

The bill also would forbid privately operated drones from being used to capture images or sound recordings of people engaging in personal activities in certain circumstances in which the individual has a reasonable expectation of privacy.

The Justiciary

The Justiciary is basically a Gendarmerie, a Military Force charged with Police Duties. This force is made of heavenly warriors known as Angels. Their mission, to secure the borders to the Middle Realm. Ever since the small invasion of the beasts, caused a situational awareness of the potential fading borders. Mathias felt it best to have an elite force constantly watching this potential threat and always ready to act encase of future attacks.

The borders are separated into Twenty Six separate "Jurisdictions" and each heavily guarded by a legion of angels. Each legion is lead by a Justice-General or Justiciar as they are called. Each of the Jurisdictions are placed against the "bubble" that Acanthus created. As the Twenty Six runs all around the bubble covering it from all ends. The Jurisdictions don't particularly run very far within the world itself, as they concern themselves with what is outside of the wall, not within it.

The Justiciary's main base of operations is within the Halls of Justice located in the Upper Realm. Each Justiciar meets within the Tower's Chamber and supply each other with reports and intelligence. Not to mention a Map of the World placed upon the table, and acts like a projector, giving them a 3D and 2D views of the Middle Realm. Each Justiciar is a cut above the rest, they are Archangels and they are the most gifted and most powerfulest of their Angelic brethren. They are the first line of defense and if the Chaos Beasts push past them, then may their be mercy on the rest of the realm.

The First Archangel-Mathew

Named after Mathias, Mathew is a devoted and sturdy leader of the Justiciary. Because of his leadership he is known as the Chief Justiciar. He is the sovereign Justice-General of Jurisdiction A (JDA for short).

The Second Archangel-Bartholomew

He is the sometimes brash and impulsive younger brother of Mathew. Despite his hot-headedness he is a brave and loyal member of the Justiciary. He is the sovereign Justice-General of Jurisdiction B (JDB).

The Third Archangel-Annamaria

The gentle and free-spirited Justice-General of Jurisdiction C (JDC). She is known to be always happy and never sad. She is best to person to find to lighten anyone's mood.

The Fourth Archangel-Dimitrion

The mild-mannered and caring Justice-General of Jurisdiction D (JDD). He is perhaps one of the most nicest people you would ever meet. He enjoys nature and is respectful of any and all walks of life. He isn't one to resort to violence right away, even though his duty would tell him otherwise. He only seeks to create everlasting peace.

The Fifth Archangel-Natalia

The timid and quiet Justice-General of Jurisdiction E (JDE). Natalia hardly speaks for fear of rejection of her words and ideas. She definitely doesn't appear to have the heart of a warrior, as she doesn't even seem to stand up for herself. Despite this she is a very kind and warm person, once you get to know her. She has the unique ability to conjure up lightning in battle.

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa, Feb. 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --?On February 14, 2013, Southwest Iowa Renewable Energy, LLC ("SIRE") announced its unaudited financial results for the first quarter of fiscal year 2013 ("Fiscal 2013") which ended December 31, 2012.??SIRE reported a net loss of $8,683,000, or $660.83 per unit, compared to a net profit of $8,996,000, or $684.62 per unit, for the first quarter of fiscal year 2012 ("Fiscal 2012") which ended December 31, 2011.??The cash flow provided by operations for the first quarter of Fiscal 2013 was $1,097,000, compared to $7,141,000 for the same period in Fiscal 2012.

Adjusted EBITDA, which is defined as earnings before interest, income taxes, and depreciation and/or amortization ("EBITDA"), as adjusted for unrealized hedging losses (gains), was?a loss of $1,259,000 for the first quarter of Fiscal 2013 and a gain of $10,014,000 for the same period in Fiscal 2012.??At December 31, 2012, SIRE had $12,391,000 in cash and equivalents and $5,555,000 available under committed loan agreements (subject to satisfaction of specified lending conditions and covenants).? For reconciliations of Adjusted EBITDA to net income attributable to SIRE, see "Adjusted EBITDA" below.

Brian Cahill, SIRE's General Manager and CEO, stated, "Our first quarter in Fiscal 2013 reflects the continuing margin compression resulting from the relative high prices of our primary input and low prices our primary product during the quarter.??In particular, the key factors during the quarter were relatively high prices compared to previous years of our primary input, ?corn, resulting from the drought conditions in the United States.?In addition, pricing pressures have continued to depress ethanol prices. Notwithstanding these margins, we have continued to make scheduled payments to our banks, resulting in further principal reduction in overall debt and reduced interest costs.??We have also continued to make modest capital investments that are resulting in incremental productivity improvements in our plant."

US Government allows first burial of same-sex military spouse in national cemetery

The US government has permitted the first burial of a same-sex spouse of a military veteran in a nation?cemetery, however whether or not this will affect other gay military couples is unknown.

The Defense of Marriage Act, the federal law defining marriage as between one man and one woman, normally means same-sex couples would not be permitted to have a nonveteran partner?buried?in national cemeteries.

The Secretary of Veterans Affairs, Eric Shinseki, however, granted a waiver in this case, saying that, despite not being married, he based his decision on the??committed relationship between the individual and the veteran.?

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has said it will allow Nancy Lynchild to be buried at Willamette National Cemetery, south east of Portland, Oregon.

Lynchild was married to Linda Campbell, who retired from the military after serving on active duty in the Air Force, the Oregon Air National Guard and the Air Force Reserves. She died of cancer in December at 64.

?My commitment to our country, shown through the service that makes me eligible for burial at Willamette, and the significance of the permanent, lifelong commitment I shared with Nancy, should be sufficient to secure a waiver for her and allow us to be buried together,? Campbell wrote to the VA on 2 January, following Lynchild?s death.

The issue of burial in national cemeteries is one of many issues faced by the US government, following the repeal of Don?t Ask Don?t Tell, the ban on openly gay people serving in the military,?on 20 September 2011.

The VA had insisted that this waiver only applied in the case of Campbell and Lynchild, however some have said the precedent set by it would be too strong to ignore in future cases.

Last week, the US Defense Secretary, Leon Panetta, confirmed that the Pentagon was to extend some benefits to same-sex military?couples.

?According to a report from German language blog iFun, Apple is preparing to release iOS 6.1.2 early next week to address the much talked about Microsoft Exchange bug and passcode vulnerability,? Jordan Kahn reports for 9ti5Mac.

?iFun confirmed the update would land sometime before Feb. 21 based on its checks with carriers,? Kahn reports. ?iFun accurately predicted the launch of iOS 6.1.1 through the same sources earlier this month.?
