In my relationship I feel put down. I have struggled with my self-esteem for some time but it has gotten harder. When things are going well I feel awesome. When I spend time with my family it?s great. We are currently expecting our next child and I?m very excited about it. She however is not excited about the pregnancy although she did want the baby. She has children from a previous relationship and I also love them very much.
She tells me ?she doesn?t need me? most recently she said ?I am not in love with you? and often uses harsh words such as: ?you are ugly? ?you are broken? etc. to me. Just about everything I do is wrong, bothers her, annoys her or isn?t right in her eyes. I even sleep wrong and breathe wrong. Frankly if I disagree at all I?m just wrong. Recently we have changed so she can be a stay at home mom, however she hates my job even though finding another one with the same pay will be quite hard and that would mean her working again. At the same time she doesn?t want to work. Some days it?s hard to get home early due to my work but I don?t come home excessively late either. I know I?m far from perfect and struggle with many issues. I try to improve each day, but I am human. I am not trying to play the vicitm here either, I know I have things I need to fix. I truly love her unconditionally and respect her but it?s bad it does not feel mutual.
The interesting thing is we are close and for example have a strong sexual relationship even when she is pregnant. When things are good it?s great. We do things together and it?s fun and positive. We go out as a family and things are good. However when they are bad things are really bad.
Do others experience this during pregnancy? Am I just doomed and this relationship is over and I don?t know it yet? Sometimes this feels like a lost battle and I?m pushing up hill for nothing.
