Baylor still No. 1 in AP women's basketball poll

Baylor remains the unanimous No. 1 in The Associated Press women's college basketball poll while South Carolina has entered the Top 25 for the first time in nine years.

The Lady Bears received all the first-place votes Monday for the sixth straight week after beating Missouri and Iowa State.

Notre Dame moved up to second after topping then-No. 2 Connecticut. The Huskies were third, followed by Stanford and Maryland.

Tennessee, Duke, Rutgers, Kentucky and Texas Tech round out the Top 10.

South Carolina entered at No. 24 after beating then-No. 24 Vanderbilt and Florida last week. The Gamecocks, last ranked in the final poll of 2002-03, routed North Carolina before the holidays. Gonzaga also is ranked for the first time this season, coming in at No. 23.

Penn State and Texas fell out of the poll.
