Uh-Oh: Nokia Revises Down Its Q1 Forecast On Lower Devices & Services Sales

Not great news for Nokia this morning in its ongoing attempt to reverse declines in its sales and market share on the back of a new strategy using Microsoft's Windows Phone platform for smartphones. The company has announced that it is lowering its outlook for the first quarter of this year, with lower-than-expected sales in its devices and services segment.

But trying to find the silver lining in its news the company also noted that it has sold more than 2 million Windows Phone Lumia smartphones and now has over 80,000 apps in the Windows Phone Marketplace app storefront. The news comes on the same day that the company launched a new NFC device, and one day after it needed to offer Lumia 900 customers refunds on devices due to data faults on handsets.
