Mike Zunino has been helping plan a wedding, trying to lead Florida to its first national championship and wondering where he will go in the Major League Baseball Draft.
Zunino learned his possible future tonight. The Seattle Mariners took him with the third pick.
His teammate, Brian Johnson, also went in the first round. The Boston Red Sox drafted him 31st overall.
Both players are juniors, meaning they have the option to return to Florida if they do not sign a contract. The deadline is July 13.
Zunino hit two homeruns during the weekend?s NCAA Tournament regional. He is batting .316 with 18 homeruns and 60 RBI.
Johnson is hitting .310 with five homeruns and 40 RBI. He also is 8-4 with a 3.56 ERA.
